Riley has officially broken her non-inpatient winning streak, and has been admitted to room 928 at Texas Children's. They haven't been able to pinpoint what exactly has caused her fever, but the good news is so far her flu tests have remained negative. The only thing they have found is some white cells in her urine test, so they are treating her for a UTI. The plan, as of now, is to continue with the antibiotic Ceftazidine every 8 hours and re-check her counts tomorrow...and obviously to have no more fevers. Her last spike was at 1:30 this morning, so we shall see what the night brings us. The great news is she feels and acts fine, just has a nagging little cough...but the bad news is she is confined to her room until they now for sure that she doesn't have the H1N1, and that could take another day or 2 for those results.
That's all I have for now, I will update tomorrow after we know more. Have a great week!!
