We were so close...

Riley's ANC has dropped back down to 10, so it looks like we get to stay a while longer. They really don't have any answers as to why her counts are staying so low, although it is fairly common during this phase of treatment. I did finally get the nerve to ask the question that has been weighing on my mind all week - Is it possible Riley has relapsed? The doctor we have been seeing, Dr. Mueller, honestly did not think this is the case...but if in a week her counts continue to stay low they will perform a bone marrow aspiration to check. Then in the next sentence she said if Riley does receive the scheduled dose of Vincristine and Doxorubicin today we can expect her counts to stay low for a while longer. They were going to leave this decision to our regular oncologist, Dr. Dreyer. Another thing brought up was that it is possibly the antibiotics keeping Riley's counts low. So, they are going to stop the remaining antibiotic, Ceftazidine, and if she spikes another fever...she will be started back up. Riley still continues to sleep a lot, and is still not eating very much. She did eat a chicken nugget last night, but has not yet had anything today. Her IV fluids have been reduced, in hopes this will increase her appetite. We shall see.

Please continue to pray for our baby girl, we are all so ready to be back home. We miss our little man like crazy. Naturally, he is possibly getting sick too. He has had a runny nose, and started to run a little fever last night...so Mary is taking him to the doctor today. I think he just needs his mommy!!

Oh, and for all you Hallettsvillians. Tickets for Riley's drive-thru benefit are starting to be passed out today. The drive-thru will be Sunday, April 13th from 11am to 1pm at the KC hall. The plates will be bbq chicken, potatoes and beans. Josh was going to leave some tickets at Hoffer's, the banks, and who knows where else. You can also check with any of the Jansky's, or even call us at home.

shorty says:
even though it may seem bad count it all joy. There is silver lining behind every dark cloud. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Look beyond the illness and see the Grace and Mercy of the LOrd that awaits in victory for your family. Have patience, and it shall be yours. The trials may be many and the peace might be few, but through it all comes the strength for you and yours to endure. Your love and faith will see you guys through. Keep encouraging yourselves also, even when it looks dark. He did not bring you this far to let you go. Much love for the whole family. The Lord is the princess keeper. He will carry her through these rough times as He will the entire family. Cause one day you will be able to say: I truly believe in miracles, because she is one!!!!!!

GOD'S LITTLE ANGLE ON EARTH!!!!
